Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic
Job summary:
Reporting to the Mechanical Foreman, the Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic will be called upon to perform diagnostics and preventive maintenance according to schedules. He will be responsible for maintaining the fleet of vehicles (trucks, trailers, forklifts) in a safe and efficient work process as well as all other related tasks related to the position. He will have to be meticulous and also ensure a periodic maintenance service on the company's trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Review work orders and discuss with the garage foreman the work to be performed;
- Carry out diagnosis, repairs and preventive maintenance according to schedules;
- Maintain quality control on the work performed;
- Complete the various service documents within a prescribed time frame;
- Check and test engines and other components using appropriate equipment to locate and determine defects;
- Adjust, repair or replace parts or components of mechanical or electrical systems using hand tools and other equipment;
- Performs periodic maintenance service on equipment;
- Any other related duties.
Training:
- Possess a vocational diploma in automotive mechanics;
- Possess a class 5 driver's license.
